We are always looking for ways to reduce our footprint, care for and protect the beautiful environment we call home.
Here are some of the ways we are working towards being a greener and more socially responsible business…
Food and Drink
Boskerris uses local food and beverage suppliers in line with our 20 mile menu ethos – reducing food miles and packaging
Our wine supplier delivers by electric van or cargo bike
We organically produce garnishes for our drinks and menu in our garden
We grow our own flowers which are used around the hotel throughout the year
We compost all garden waste
We use our used coffee granules in the garden
We recycle all cooking oil
We recycle glass, cardboard, paper and plastic
We have removed all plastic from our bars including stirrers, straws and picks
We do not purchase any plastic bottles for our drinks, only glass or cans
The Hotel
We have 2 electric car chargers on site
We use refillable room toiletries to reduce plastic waste. Our toiletry provider uses 100% natural botanicals from the British countryside and all packaging is recyclable, biodegradable or post-recycled and cruelty-free
We have a system for guests where they chose whether they’d like their towels replaced daily
We use eco-flushes on our toilets to reduce water consumption
Where possible, we use eco-cleaning products throughout the hotel
We use linen napkins which are washed in house, as opposed to using disposable napkins
We rag old linen to use for cleaning
All lightbulbs have been updated to LED bulbs and we have motion sensor lightbulbs in place in back of house rooms reducing our overall electricity consumption
We upcycle furniture where possible to give the pieces a second life
We consciously decorate with paint that has a low emission score and uses recyclable tins
We employ local staff, the majority of which walk into work
